Construction Mechanic (m/f)

MEIKO's clean solutions are immediately recognisable by their sparkling exterior – and that comes down to the work of our construction mechanics. You will be processing a wide range of materials including stainless steel and non-ferrous metals into containers, machine housings, panelling and subassemblies. This will involve using the full spectrum of modern technologies such as milling, folding, punching and welding as well as the very latest machining technologies including CNC-controlled laser, punching and bending machines. As a construction mechanic you can expect to encounter new, challenging tasks every single day – and your future prospects are excellent. MEIKO offers the perfect working environment with the very latest equipment, innovative learning programmes and plenty of joint projects and teamwork activities.

What we're looking for:

Good manual skills, an inquisitive mind and a keen interest in technical details. Having enjoyed maths, physics and team projects at school you have developed good communication skills, enjoy working meticulously on challenging tasks and take pride in getting things right.

You will have already completed your general certificate of secondary education or studied metal working at vocational college.

How your apprenticeship is organised (3.5 years):

  • Basic concepts and principles of metal working (9 months)
  • Specialist training and intensive preparation for exams
  • Individual and group projects to consolidate the learning process

Hi, I'm Steven Nückles. I'll be on hand to support you during your apprenticeship at MEIKO. You will benefit from my decades of experience as a coach and professional instructor. I have already successfully assisted and accompanied hundreds of young people on this major journey into an important new phase of their lives. My goal is to communicate core values, help people develop on a personal level and enjoy the process of working together.

Where can I go from here?

If you are keen to continue after the course, you can choose between obtaining further qualifications as a technician or foreman, studying for a Bachelor Professional qualification in the technical arena, or taking a degree in engineering in a variety of disciplines.
