More and more people are becoming infected with the coronavirus. Hospitals no longer have enough capacities and China is responding to this by building emergency hospitals. State media report that the first emergency hospital in Wuhan will be opened today. It was built in a record time of eight days by 7,500 workers. China had experiences with the SARS virus as early as 2003 and the plans for the construction projects at that time served as a template for the current situation.
One takes off and flies from continent to continent at 900 km/h at an altitude of approx. 10,000 m. In our series "Reports from the MEIKO Service World" we look to Meiko UK based in Slough, England. There the MEIKO service is lived par excellence:
Prior to MEIKO moving an innovation into series production, it must pass a final quality check: the load test in the MEIKO development lab. And this is not exactly for the feint hearted. This is because MEIKO insists on simulating the real conditions that prevail at the customer premises as closely as possible. Even if this testing programme goes far beyond the specifications laid down in the standards, as it was the case with the M-iClean H automatic hood system.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) reports what has been known about MEIKO for a long time: "Model employers are by no means a given in today's world and employees currently expect more than just a good salary. This is now underlined by a study by the F.A.Z., which counts MEIKO as one of them Germany's most sought-after employers.
"One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world." Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzi knows what she is talking about. Her statement appears on the "Bunte Münchner Kindl" aid project website and expresses its central objective, which applies even in Germany, where children do not necessarily have the school supplies they need. Equal opportunity begins very early on in life, even when it comes to having the proper materials for the classroom.
She's long – 337 meters, to be exact. And she's big, with 2,600 cabins that accommodate up to 6,600 passengers. But her environmental footprint is surprisingly small, even earning praise from the German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Association (NABU). We are talking about the AIDAnova, the newest cruise ship in use by the Rostock-based shipping company Aida Cruises.
More than 90 years ago, Oskar Meier and Franz Konrad set themselves a goal: use clever technology to make the world a little bit cleaner. They founded MEIKO. Clean solutions – that is what MEIKO engineers have been working on for nine decades, with passion, care and great success. A clean solution must always be a sustainable solution.
Service is a key priority at MEIKO. So important that they even initiated a new award, which will be awarded once a year to one of the subsidiaries. And the first winner of the MEIKO Service-Award in 2018 is: MEIKO Clean Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd. from Bangalore.
After two awards last year, the British Association of Projects and Equipment for the foodservice, catering and hospitality industry CEDA honored MEIKO again with the Supplier Award.
